1st Steps

Well, Friday (September 10) was my 1st actual performance. The event? ManifestoJA. Was I nervous? ~~Hell~~ Heaven yeah! Kariuki was the one who actually had the idea of me doing a song during his set. So after two days of late-night rehearsals and a lot of at home practicing, I performed, it was fun and crazy, mi nah lie, my heart was going crazy the whole time but I learnt that if you really want something that you have to be fully commited and up for the challenges.

He's right, our parents sold us out and yes we need to stand up but the question is how exactly do we do that. At the end of the day God is the only one who can save us. Hey peeps waddup. Ojay here just wanna say on behalf of the whole Kid Dreamer team, I apologize to everyone who had been anticipating the mixtape on January 8th and we just want to let you all know that due to difficulties that were out of our control, we had to postpone it to a later date. However it will be dropped THIS SATURDAY. Yes, we are very much grateful for your patience and we hope that you enjoy it. But personally, Im kinda glad it was posponed cuz now, it is ten times better than before and I assure you, you will be satisfied with what we have. Yeah, people Me (JLA Mewzik) and Ojay's Mixtape, Boy Meets World has been delayed once again but everything has a purpose.

THE RUNDOWN
Time got the best of us. On January 8th the day BMW was supposed to drop we decided that the music that we created was great but we wanted to go further,so we took more time.

The Second date it was supposed to drop, the mixing took even longer and we removed some songs and replaced them with better ones.

Well here we are again.

Well peeps, another year gone huh?
'09 was great. Kid Dreamer Ent is growing at an unbelievable pace.

I released one music project, Jay-Z x Bob Marley "Young Roc Rebels" that did fairly well (200+ downloads already).2009 was really the year for growth, the first officail steps that will propell us to the top.
Still, the world lost a number of people in '09 and their spirits will be with us as we proceed in '10.

As for this year.Me and Ojay are prepping a mixtape called "Boy Meets World"

(which is phenomenal and is the best work that i have done to date). It will be released here (free as always) on January 8th for everyone.

You can expect some more groundbreaking projects from us (me and Ojay) throught 2010.
Just stay tuned.

By the way seriously look out for Ojay the music that dude makes in on another level...seriously.

"Boy Meets World" will be (whether or not the media rides with us) hard!

For the next couple of Thursdays, i will be putting the spotlight one of my favorite albums that has inspired me this can include any album of any time period and of any genre(well plain and simple right?). Here is the first one.

Jay-Z "The Black Album"(2003)
Well to be completly honest, I was never a true blue, hardcore over-the -top,die hard (ok, let me stop this rambling) Rap fan. How ironic is it that couple years later i would be the one writing raps and striving to be a rapper?

Yep, pretty ironic.

So what got me here, I would say that it was definitely the Kanye West invasion via his debut album College Dropout (2004) but before Yeezy quit school, it was Yeezy's sample-based production that got my attention. It was Kanye West
along with notable Beat smiths Just Blaze, Timbaland and Eminem..(yes Eminem actually made a beat for Jay), who contributed to Jigga's supposed last note.

From top to bottom this album is powerful, this is a classic album in my opinion. What actually attracted me to get the album was when I was listening to the radio (Zip 103) and they played PSA (well they played a remix with Bounty Killa). Jay-Z's fiery lyrics and confidence pushed me to listen and now... its stuck In my iPod.
